I love going to the beach…
My family and I used to take family vacations to the beach every year and there was where I made some amazing memories. But most of all, those trips are where I fell in love with the beach. The warm sand between my toes, the smell of the ocean, and the feel of the salty air with the warm summer sun on my face. I remember the saltwater giving my hair a unique look and texture that I love. There were even a few mornings that I would go down to the ocean for a morning swim, just to give my hair that beach wave look.
But I miss the beachy waves…
Being an adult with a full-time job has prevented me from going to the beach as much as I would like to, so I decided to figure out the best way to recreate the effect that ocean water has on my hair. After some research, I have decided on three different ways to try and get my beachy waves back. I tried heatless waves, using a flat iron, and I used “Not Your Mother’s Beach Babe Texturizing Sea Salt Spray”
Three Methods for Beach Waves
Heatless Waves
In order to get this look, I simply just braided my hair into two french braids after a shower. I have pretty thin hair and it still took a couple of hours for the braids to dry. This hairstyle was probably my most favorite of the three different attempts. It would probably work even better if I had left the braids overnight but for a couple of hours in braids, I am really impressed with how well my hair turned out. As someone who likes to save as much time as possible, I will definitely continue to use this method!
Flat Iron Curls
I admit this was my first time attempting to curl my hair using a flat iron and after getting the hang of it, I was pleasantly surprised! I liked the way that my hair turned out, and the curls lasted a really long time. I put my hair up in a ponytail, drove with the windows down, slept through the night, worked out, and the curls lasted through it all without hair spray. It is safe to say that I found a new way to curl my hair but they aren’t the beach waves that I am looking for.

Beach babe textured spray
This is absolutely one of my new favorite products, and the smell of it is a huge plus. I sprayed the solution into my hair and immediately smelled like the beach mixed with coconut. I got exactly the beachy wave look that I wanted using this product and it was so easy to use. After towel drying my hair, I sprayed my damp hair about 10 times with the textured spray. I used my hands to squeeze my hair to enhance the waves and this will definitely be my go-to look for the rest of summer. My hair kept the beach waves all day, and the hairstyle took about 10 seconds to do which is just what I need for my busy schedule.
If you love the ocean and beachy waves as much as I do; Try one or all of these methods and let me know which one is your favorite!

I love the beach wave look as well. I agree your braided look was the most successful, but you did a good job with the curling iron for it to be your first attempt.
